Assignment Details

Key Responsibilities:

Evacuation Connectivity:

Lead efforts related to evacuation of renewable energy from wind and solar projects through ISTS (Inter-State Transmission System) and STU (State Transmission Utility) networks.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to assess and design the evacuation infrastructure for renewable projects, ensuring compliance with grid connectivity regulations.
Oversee technical and regulatory aspects of power evacuation agreements with ISTS and STU, ensuring smooth power flow from renewable energy plants.

Transmission System Interface:

Manage communication and coordination with Transmission Service Providers (TSPs), Central Transmission Utility (CTU), State Transmission Utilities (STUs), and grid operators to ensure timely and efficient connectivity.
Develop strategies to secure grid connections and ensure grid stability for large-scale wind and solar projects.
Provide technical support in the preparation of necessary documentation, including grid connection applications and agreements.

Project Coordination:

Work closely with project development teams to identify technical requirements, timelines, and potential risks for power evacuation.
Assist in coordinating with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for procurement of critical equipment and with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors for the installation of evacuation systems.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with national and regional regulations related to power evacuation, including the relevant grid codes, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other transmission regulations.
Keep up to date with policy changes and regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector.

Stakeholder Management:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, transmission utilities, and third-party service providers.
Coordinate with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely execution of evacuation infrastructure projects.

Risk and Issue Management:

Identify and address any technical or regulatory risks related to evacuation connectivity, including delays in approvals or infrastructure readiness.
Proactively resolve issues and mitigate risks that may affect the timelines or cost structure of projects.

Technical Expertise:

Provide technical expertise in the design, execution, and commissioning of power evacuation infrastructure.
Analyze and evaluate the impact of transmission system upgrades and expansion on existing and future projects.

Skills Required

Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing power evacuation projects, specifically related to renewable energy, wind, and solar sectors.
- Proven track record working with reputed Wind/Solar Developers, OEMs, and EPC Players in the field of renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), State Transmission Utility (STU) regulations, and Grid Code compliance.
- Experience in managing and coordinating with various stakeholders like government authorities, transmission operators, developers, and contractors.
Skills:
- Strong technical expertise in grid integration, power evacuation, and renewable energy systems.
- In-depth knowledge of transmission network design, capacity, and planning.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to power evacuation and transmission.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
Certifications (optional but preferred):
- Relevant certifications in power systems, transmission planning, or renewable energy.
