Assignment Details

Our Client, an Indian multinational conglomerate renowned for its operations in infrastructure, Is looking for Independent Consultant who can deliver the following responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

1. Costing & Price Benchmarking (Wind)

2-Develop bottom-up cost models for key wind components
3-Conduct cost breakdown analysis (BOM/BOP) to determine target
pricing for procurement.
4-Benchmark supplier costs across domestic & international markets
to optimize sourcing.
5-Track commodity price fluctuations (steel, aluminium, copper,
logistics) and assess cost impact.
6- Commercial & Vendor Negotiations
7-Support price negotiations wind suppliers using detailed cost
models.
8-Structure long-term supply agreements (LTAs), volume discounts,
and risk mitigation strategies.
9-Work closely with the supply chain & procurement teams to drive
cost savings, delivery schedules, & supplier performance.
10 -Evaluate vendor proposals from a commercial & technical
perspective.
11- Supply Chain Strategy & Procurement Support
12-Identify strategic sourcing opportunities for reducing total cost of
ownership (TCO).
13-Analyse import duties, taxes, and logistics costs to optimize
procurement strategies.
14-Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams for
cost-effective vendor selection.
15-Ensure compliance with supply chain risk mitigation, quality &
sustainability requirements.
16- Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies to
optimize project budgets. Continuously evaluate market trends and
pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with the

project team to control procurement expenses and achieve cost
targets.
17-Materials and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of
inventory levels, ensuring that project sites have the necessary
materials and equipment. Oversee the ordering and delivery of
materials, coordinating with project schedules to avoid delays.
18-Contract Management: Review, and support contract management
with suppliers, including terms and conditions, warranties, and
service agreements. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory
requirements.
19- Market & Policy Analysis (Wind)
20-Stay updated on government policies, duties, and trade regulations
impacting wind procurement.
21-Assess Make in India vs. imported procurement strategies based on:
oWind: Local manufacturing policies, SECI tenders, grid
evacuation constraints
22- Provide market intelligence on Chinese, European, and Indian
manufacturing trends in wind.

Skills Required

  1. 10-12 years in renewable energy supply chain, procurement, cost
    modelling, or commercial negotiations
  2. Strong understanding of wind components & BOS pricing
  3. Expertise in cost modelling, price benchmarking & vendor
    negotiations
  4. Knowledge of ALMM, BCD, GST, ISTS exemptions, SECI tenders,
    and PLI schemes
  5. Proficiency in Excel, cost analysis tools & procurement software
    (SAP, Ariba, etc.)
  6. Ability to evaluate technical & commercial aspects of supplier
    proposals

  8. Analytical & problem-solving mindset
  9. Collaboration across cross-functional teams
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cost-driven environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:
1- B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or
equivalent)
2- MBA (Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance) preferred
3-  Experience in wind, renewables, EPC, or power equipment sectors is a
plus
