Our client, A leading global consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain/Procurement Consultant to help drive significant cost reduction in the Bill of Materials (BOM) for a growing company in the semiconductor, power electronics, and hardware manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the industry, with proven expertise in sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract manufacturing. This consultant will work closely with leadership to optimize the BOM, reduce costs, and ensure the organization is well-positioned for future growth in demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BOM Cost Reduction Strategy: Analyze current BOM structures and identify opportunities to reduce direct material costs without compromising on quality, performance, or reliability.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Source new suppliers and contract manufacturing partners who offer competitive pricing while maintaining the required quality standards.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Lead negotiations with current suppliers and contract manufacturers to secure the lowest possible prices for direct materials and services.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the company is getting the best value from existing and new partners.
  • Cost Benchmarking: Continuously benchmark material and manufacturing costs within the industry to stay ahead of market trends and opportunities for further cost reductions.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about the latest trends and innovations in the semiconductor, power electronics, and hardware manufacturing sectors to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiencies.
  • Risk Management: Assess potential risks related to supplier stability, cost fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineering, product development, and operations teams to understand product requirements and ensure cost reductions align with overall production goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance, and BOM optimization to leadership.

    Location - Bangalore, Chennai

Skills Required

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, or contract manufacturing within the semiconductor, power electronics, or hardware manufacturing industries.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures and the ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing new suppliers and negotiating favorable contracts with both new and existing suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex supply chain and cost reduction challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, market trends, and cost benchmarking tools.
  • Ability to handle a high-growth environment and manage supply chain complexity as the company scales.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or relevant certifications are a plus).
