Assignment Details

Our Client is a leading management consulting firm and is looking for a Supply Chain Consultant 


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate forecasting and replenishment strategies for inventory management, aligning with production schedules and demand fluctuations.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely transportation of materials and finished goods both within the plant and externally to customers or distribution centers.
  • Manage relationships with logistics service providers, freight companies, and third-party vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs while meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain a Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory system to minimize excess stock while ensuring the timely availability of critical parts.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels based on changing production needs, demand forecasts, and lead times.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and implement proactive measures to mitigate them, including managing supply disruptions or delays

Skills Required

Skills Required

  • Strong experience in managing supplier and vendor relationships, including negotiating terms, pricing, and service levels to secure optimal deals.
  • Familiarity with automotive production standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949,
    IATF 16949) and industry-specific quality standards
  • Expertise in implementing lean supply chain techniques such as JIT, JIS, Kitting, and pre-assemblies.
  • Proficiency with procurement and supply chain management tools, including SAP, APS, ERP, and other vendor management portals.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, forecasting, and replenishment strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to mitigate risks and manage supply chain disruptions effectively.
