Assignment Details
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investments in the iron ore mining industry across Australia, and Africa markets.
2. Assess regulatory compliance requirements pertinent to each jurisdiction and ensure that potential investments align with legal frameworks.
3. Evaluate environmental considerations associated with each mining asset, including impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and sustainability practices.
4. Analyze the financial viability and operational efficiency of target companies/assets, including production capabilities, resource reserves, and cost structures.
5. Provide strategic guidance to the investment team based on due diligence findings, risk assessments, and market trends.
6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop investment strategies and mitigate potential risks associated with mining investments.
7. Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry experts, and local communities, to gather relevant information and insights.
8. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing due diligence findings, investment recommendations, and risk assessments for executive leadership.

Skills Required
1. Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, PhD) preferred.
2. Extensive experience (20+ years) in the mining industry with a focus on due diligence, corporate development, or strategic planning. Experience in iron ore mining preferred.
3. Proven track record of conducting due diligence assessments for mining investments across multiple jurisdictions, including India, Australia, and Africa.
4. In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, environmental standards, and industry best practices in the mining sector.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial information to inform investment decisions.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
7. Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
8. Experience working with global mining companies or consultancy firms such as Rio Tinto, BHP, Glencore, Hatch, SRK Consultants, or Wood Mackenzie is highly desirable.
