Our client, a social-sector advisory firm, is looking to engage with a Agribusiness Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Transformation Efforts: Spearhead the large-scale transformation of
agriculture value chains focusing on Rice and Sugarcane. Target for adoption of
Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) practices across 250,000 hectares in Uttar Pradesh.
Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with government bodies, private sector
players, and NGOs to drive agricultural transformation.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement concepts, project reports and feasibility analyses for transformation connecting with colleagues working on precision agriculture and irrigation development programs.
Ground-Level Management: Manage ground-level teams for effective planning and
execution of pilots/ projects.
Build Partnerships: Establish and nurture strong partnerships and networks with key stakeholders, including private players and farmer collectives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with farmers, collectives, and government
officials to ensure successful implementation of transformational initiatives.
Data-Driven Approach: Utilize MS tools like PPT, Word, and Excel for reporting,
analysis, and presentation purposes.
Skills Required
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Agri
Marketing, or related fields from a reputed institute.
Experience: 10+ years in agriculture transformation and agribusiness across different value chain in India. Preference will be given to work on rice and sugarcane system transformation
Expertise: Sound understanding of agriculture, agribusinesses, agriculture
technologies, and agriculture value chains.
Management Experience: Proven experience managing ground-level teams for
planning and execution of projects.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated expertise in partnerships and establishing
strong networks with private players.
Government and NGO Interaction: Practical experience working with
governments, private players, and farmers/collectives, preferably in Uttar Pradesh.
Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Technical Skills: Excellent in MS tools (PPT, Word, Excel)
