Assignment Details

Our client, a Leading Global Specialist in Energy Management and Automation, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced freelancer to conduct a detailed analysis of export policies and sustainability guidelines impacting Indian MSMEs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in market research, with a focus on exports from India, and a preferred understanding of sustainability practices and the Manufacturing MSME sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Document US and European market guidelines for importing products from India and other Asian countries.
Identify and document the specific guidelines Indian MSMEs must follow to export products to the US and European markets, with a focus on energy management and sustainability-related regulations.
Compile a list of key export products by Indian MSMEs, highlighting the regions they are exported to and the Indian states/SEZ areas from which they originate.
Research and document how US and European importers are addressing their Scope 3 emissions targets, particularly through their supply chains in India.
Identify trends in both optional and mandatory sustainability guidelines that Indian MSMEs need to adhere to in order to export to US and European markets.
Analyze and document the barriers to entry faced by Indian MSMEs when exporting products to these markets, particularly from a sustainability compliance perspective.

Skills Required

Minimum of 4+ years of experience in market research, with a focus on export policies and sustainability practices.
Prior understanding of the export process from India, including documentation, compliance, and trade guidelines.
Strong research and analytical skills to gather, analyze, and present complex regulatory information.
Excellent communication skills to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of the sustainability domain, including energy management and Scope 3 emissions.
Familiarity with the Manufacturing MSME sector.
MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
The candidate should be familiar with major export hubs in India and their associated SEZ areas to understand regional export trends.
