Our client, a leading global social impact consulting firm, is looking to engage with a Research Consultant.
Role Overview:
The Research Consultant will play a crucial role in guiding the team through the entire research process, from data collection to the synthesis of findings. This individual will be responsible for evaluating research quality, conceptualizing evidence maps, and supporting strategic problem-solving for practitioners. The role requires a deep understanding of academic literature, secondary/desk research, and evidence synthesis to enhance the team's knowledge base and produce impactful outputs.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Data Collection and Analysis:
- Guide the team in collecting and analyzing data from various sources.
- Evaluate the quality of research methodologies and findings.
- Synthesize data into coherent and actionable insights.
2. Evidence Synthesis and Mapping:
- Conceptualize and create evidence maps and similar products.
- Utilize academic expertise to support strategic problem-solving for practitioners.
3. Knowledge Building:
- Identify and assess data sources relevant to the topic at hand.
- Conduct secondary/desk research to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Create evidence syntheses to support the consulting and research teams.
4. Support in Outputs Creation:
- Provide data summaries and inputs based on consulting needs.
- Participate in and guide team brainstorming sessions.
- Write up and/or visualize data for internal teams, clients, and publication purposes.

Skills Required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, international affairs, journalism, statistics, sociology, or a related field. Having a Master’s degree in these areas is a plus.
- Excellent academic record
- Minimum two years in a research role or similar experience in a role where literature review, synthesis, and understanding of different methodologies are essential.
- Proven experience in research, data analysis, and evidence synthesis.
- Ability to conceptualize and create evidence maps and related products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
