Our Client, a philanthropic institution committed to nurturing and catalysing India’s innovation landscape and ground breaking technologies that can create large-scale social, economic, and environmental impact for millions of people is looking to engage with Research Analyst(Social/Development Sector).
Key Deliverables of the Role:
1. Being the owner of the scouting process for the Scale-Up Program.
2. Identifying highly disruptive and innovative organizations across sectors of
Agriculture, Plastics Waste Management and Clean Technology.
3. Analysing each identified organization in terms of fitment to the already existing
Scale-Up Program criteria.
4. Gathering additional information such as competition, benchmarks etc. about the
innovative organization for discussion with the internal team.
5. Leading meetings with the innovative organizations to validate claims/analyse
their business and ask relevant questions that the team may need.
6. Assisting the Scale-Up team to manage and update organizations in the pipeline,
in an organized manner on the CRM tool.
7. Supporting existing cohort of startups by building strategic partnerships for them
by liaising with the Vertical Heads / portfolio managers.
The purpose of the role is to:
1. Find innovative start-ups for the scale-up program as per the annual targets
through extensive research and networking.
2. Present and discuss with the team which startups should be onboarded and why.
Building a thesis on the innovativeness and scalability of the startup is required.
3. Support existing portfolio start-ups in the Scale-Up Program, with strategic
partnerships.
Skills Required
Qualification & competencies required:
1. Should be based out of Mumbai and not anywhere else (work-from-office role)
2. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
3. Interest in, engaged with, and understanding of the start-up and innovation
ecosystem in India.
4. Ability to understand the innovativeness and scalability of organizations from a
scientific and business standpoint respectively.
5. Excellent research, networking skills.
6. High analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply
learnings and frameworks.
7. Excellent structured verbal skills, written communication skills and presentation
skills.
8. Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
9. Previous experience working with start-ups, venture capital firms, start-up
incubators, accelerators, or in any other related capacity will be preferred.
