Assignment Details
Our client, an American Private Foundation, is looking to engage with a consultant- Strategic Support for TB Elimination Efforts in India.
The consultant will be closely working with the Advisor to the National TB Program (NTP) in an honorary capacity. The advisor will be offering critical guidance to the NTP to make strategic decisions and prioritize key interventions to Eliminate TB. The consultant will support the advisor in building and implementing of a CTD owned and led strategy in India with a view to Eliminating TB.
Areas of work:
The Consultant will work under the guidance of Senior Program Officer TB to carry
out the following for the use of the foundation:
Provide inception report (with details of efforts taken by National TB Elimination program on priority areas, challenges thereof and what can be done to address them) within 15 days of initiating the contract
Provide inputs for revision of India TB strategy for National TB Elimination Program (NTEP)
Participate in meetings with government, partners such as World Bank, GFATM, USAID and other stakeholders (state governments, implementing agencies)
o Participate in meetings with stakeholders
o Document meetings and share notes for the advisor perusal
o Follow up with stakeholders on next steps
Review literature, develop notes, action plans, and offer inputs based on analyses
o Review, analyze, and assess literature and data
On mortality and incidence status and outcomes and prevention,
detection, and treatment functions
Covering NTEP components such as governance and reviews, financing, human resources, supply chain management, digital information systems, research, surveillance, advocacy and communication, involvement of persons with TB, and equity dimensions
Covering similar components from other TB programs of note that
are contextually relevant for India’s situation and ambition
o Situating strategy and individual solutions in the context of national and sub-
national realities with respect to variations in socio-demographics of persons
with TB and existing and planned TB and overall health and allied sector
initiatives and investments and resourcing plans by the government, partners,
and private sector entities while simultaneously also leveraging these.
o Assessing and incorporating relevant developments in development and
health consortia and fora, commodity markets, analytics and AI, capacity
building, and community involvement in India and globally.
o Any other areas of request from the advisor
Prepare briefing notes and share with the foundation
o Develop analyses, notes, feasibility and fit assessments, and action plans on
hypotheses and concepts for quick initial testing of merit for furthering analysis by various expert groups.
o Surface critical challenges and opportunities not captured in or evident
through program documents and discussions and help triangulate ideas
and positions and travel as needed
o Prepare briefs, draft documents, and insightful analyses for the advisor to direct and aid deliberations of various groups and review performance and share the same for the foundation's use.
Accompany the advisor for field visits based on request and share
reports with the foundation.
Coordinate activities for the advisor related to reviews, visits and
meetings
Skills Required
- Work experience in consulting firms / strategy teams post a Master’s Degree
- Exposure to social / philanthropic sector is essential
- The candidate should have experience in project management & business planning
- Would be required to demonstrate logical thinking, good numeric abilities, and strong interpersonal skills
