Assignment Details

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wind Energy Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wind resource assessment, turbine technology, and site optimization, with hands-on experience in installing meteorological (met) masts and collaborating with consultants. This role is critical in ensuring the successful assessment and development of wind energy projects.

Key responsibilities:

Wind Resource Assessment:

  • Conduct wind data analysis and feasibility studies for potential wind farm sites.
  • Analyze wind resource data to evaluate site energy yield and ensure alignment with project goals.

Initial Micro-Siting and Optimization:

  • Perform micro-siting to determine the optimal layout of wind turbines.
  • Optimize turbine placement to maximize efficiency while adhering to environmental and regulatory constraints.

Turbine Technology Diligence:

  • Assess and evaluate wind turbine technologies for project suitability.
  • Stay updated on advancements in turbine technology to recommend optimal solutions.

Met Mast Installation:

  • Oversee and participate in the installation and commissioning of meteorological (met) masts for data collection.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable wind resource data measurement through proper maintenance and calibration.

Coordination with Consultants:

  • Collaborate with external consultants for specialized studies, including environmental impact assessments and grid integration.
  • Ensure deliverables from consultants align with project timelines and objectives.

Operational Assessment:

  • Conduct operational performance analysis of existing wind farms.
  • Identify areas for performance improvements and implement corrective measures.

Skills Required

Skills required:

  • Qualification: B.Tech + M.Tech (Atmospheric science / Wind resource) preferred
  • Proven experience in wind energy projects, including wind resource assessment and micro-siting.
  • Strong project management and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interacting with consultants and stakeholders.
