Assignment Details

Our client, A leading global consulting firm is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations and Overhead Cost Reduction Consultant to identify and implement opportunities for reducing internal (non-BOM) costs associated with manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be an expert in operational efficiency, indirect spend reduction, and overhead cost management, with a strong track record of driving measurable results. While familiarity with our specific industry is a plus, we welcome applications from generalist manufacturing experts with diverse experience in optimizing operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current operational processes, workflows, and overhead expenditures within the manufacturing environment.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in areas such as labor, facilities, utilities, administrative processes, maintenance, and other indirect spend categories.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations and reduce non-BOM-related expenses without compromising quality or production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, procurement, and HR) to align cost-reduction initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Design and establish metrics to measure and track the impact of implemented cost-reduction strategies.
  • Provide detailed recommendations and action plans for sustainable cost improvements, supported by data-driven analysis.
  • Facilitate training and change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new practices across the organization.

    Please note this is an onsite role for 6 months in Bangalore/Chennai

Skills Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in manufacturing operations with a proven focus on indirect cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of cost optimization best practices and tools for managing overhead in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver measurable results on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and operational performance metrics is an advantage.
