Assignment Details
Our client, a leading management consulting firm, is seeking experienced Customs Systems Consultants to support a comprehensive review and redesign of digital systems used in customs applications processing for our client. This project involves identifying legal and procedural issues, reviewing current customs digital systems, and providing recommendations for improvement. Additionally, consultants will assist in the preparation of RFPs (Request for Proposals) for integrated customs systems.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct a detailed review of the current customs digital systems, including but not limited to Indian Customs EDI Gateway (ICEGATE), Indian Customs EDI System (ICES), and Risk Management System (RMS).
-Identify legal and procedural issues pertaining to customs applications processing.
-Collaborate with stakeholders to develop recommendations for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of customs digital systems.
-Support the redesign of customs digital systems to align with identified recommendations.
-Assist in the preparation of RFP documents for customs integrated systems.
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to client site/Delhi)
Type: Part-Time (10-15 hours per week)
Duration: 6 months
Skills Required
-Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com) or professional qualifications such as CA/CS. LLB/LLM degree is mandatory.
-15+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in Indian customs laws and procedures.
-Experience working with government agencies, preferably with the Indian
-Revenue Service (Customs & Central Excise).
-Detailed understanding of Indian customs digital systems, including ICEGATE, ICES, and RMS.
-Proven track record in process analysis and improvement within customs applications.
-Analytical mindset with the ability to identify legal, process, and system-related issues.
-Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and present findings/recommendations.
-Project management skills to manage tasks within specified timelines.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid remote/onsite work environment.
-Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites in Delhi or as required.
