Assignment Details

Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Management and Administration:
o Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
o Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of PostgreSQL and
Oracle databases.
o Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
o Perform database tuning, indexing, and optimization to ensure efficient
database performance.
o Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
2. Security and Compliance:
o Implement and manage database security policies, procedures, and standards.
o Ensure data integrity and privacy in compliance with relevant regulations and
policies.
o Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
3. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
o Monitor database performance and implement necessary tuning and
optimization measures.
o Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in PostgreSQL and Oracle
databases.
o Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in database
performance.
4. Backup and Recovery:
o Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery strategies.
o Ensure regular backups are taken and securely stored.
o Manage disaster recovery planning and execution.
5. Database Design and Development Support:
o Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas
and queries.
o Provide support for database development, including stored procedures,
functions, and triggers.
o Assist in the design and implementation of data models and database
structures.
6. Maintenance and Support:
o Provide 24/7 support for critical database systems and ensure high availability.
o Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, cloning, and refreshing
databases.
o Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations,
procedures, and standards.
o Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and incidents.
o Provide training and guidance to junior DBAs and other team members.

Skills Required

Skills required:
- 4 to 7 years of experienced in database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Equivalent.
- Proven experience as a DBA with both PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL (for PostgreSQL) and PL/SQL (for Oracle).
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Proficient in backup and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
