Assignment Details
As a Shiny engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive web applications using the Shiny framework in R. You will collaborate closely with our data analytics and engineering, business process owners to understand requirements and translate them into intuitive and visually appealing Shiny applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing and prototyping Shiny applications based on client specifications and user requirements
• Implementing interactive data visualization tools using Shiny, bs4Dash, ggplot2, reactable, bslib, and related packages in R
• Developing custom UI components and layouts to enhance user experience
• Integrating Shiny applications with backend databases and end points
• Optimizing Shiny application performance for scalability and responsiveness
• Conducting code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Documenting technical specifications, user guides, and best practices for Shiny development
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for existing Shiny applications
Skills Required
• Strong problem-solving skills, crystal sharp attention to detail, and the ability to use data to argue analytically without logical cavities
• Solid proficiency in Tidyverse dialect in R programming language, with a strong understanding of Shiny framework
• Able to code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and blend them fluently to Shiny
• Able to use CSS and JavaScript libraries (e.g. Bootstrap, d3.js, vis.js) and integrate elements from these libraries to Shiny
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices, and the ability to appreciate good proportion of data-to-ink aesthetics
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as databases (SQL, Redshift, etc)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
