Work Description and Key Responsibilities
The Product Head will play a pivotal role in launching new products and improving adoption from ideation to launch and sales. Key responsibilities include:
• Product development:
o Ideation and conceptualization: Generate new product ideas and concepts based on market
needs and technological advancements.
o Roadmap creation: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with company goals
and market demands.
o Feature definition: Define product features, specifications, and requirements in collaboration
with engineering and design teams.
o Project management: Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to
ensure on-time product launches.
o Driving adoption: Ensure maximum adoption of launched products and a feedback mechanism
is in place for continuous improvements in product features
• Leverage industry connections:
o OEM relationships: Identify, establish, and maintain strong relationships with Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure a reliable supply chain.
o Vendor negotiations: Negotiate contracts and agreements with OEMs and other suppliers to
secure favorable terms and conditions.
o Partnership development: Develop strategic partnerships to enhance product offerings and
expand market reach.
• Market analysis to understand product-market fit:
o Competitive analysis: Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis to benchmark products
against competitors.
o Pricing strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability while
remaining competitive.
o Market research: Perform market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential
market opportunities.
o Business case development: Create detailed business cases for new product initiatives,
including financial projections and ROI analysis. Ensure that each product line achieves its
revenue targets.
• Ownership and leadership:
o Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with network, solutioning, marketing, sales, and
customer support teams to ensure cohesive product development and launch.
o Product launches: Lead product launch initiatives, including go-to-market strategies, sales
training, and customer education.
o Performance monitoring: Monitor product performance post-launch and make data-driven
decisions for enhancements and iterations.
o Stakeholder communication: Regularly update senior management and stakeholders on
product development progress, challenges, and successes.
• Reporting and documentation:
o Documentation standards: Ensure all product documentation, including specifications, user
manuals, and technical guides, meet formal requirements and standards.
o Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior
management to track product performance and progress.
Qualification, skills and previous experience required
• Educational background: BTech/MTech from a Tier 1/Tier 2 college; any certifications/ courses on digital marketing would be a plus
• Work experience
o 7+ years of work experience around in product management roles, preferably in telecom/ network/network equipment/ internet services / related space. Track record of successful product development
and launches.
o Apart from the candidates working in established firms, candidates working in high growth start-ups are also encouraged to apply
• Leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate
technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Technical expertise: Deep technical understanding of internet leased lines, cloud recording, video analytics, and other ISP services.
• Industry relationships: Proven ability to onboard OEMs and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Business acumen: Strong understanding of the business implications of product launches, includingpricing, market size, and competition benchmarking.
