Assignment Details

Our client, a leading management consulting firm, is seeking experienced IT Expert who has experience in manufacturing at Automotive OEMs, Farm Equipment Manufacturers or Tech Services.

Org-wide enterprise technology architecture (Application)

  •  Target state application architecture with identified systems and applications across value chain (e.g., MES, WMS, QMS and MRO), along with clearly defined integrations
  • Playbook for maximized utilization of pre-existing best-in-class applications (e.g., SAP QMS, MRO, PP) across the organization to strengthen current application architecture

Future ready Infra to support transformation

  • Refined infrastructure implementation approach for hosting, including on-prem vs cloud
  • Cloud strategy and rationalization framework for detailed evaluation and assessment of existing and upcoming apps for cloud migration
  • DC-DR implementation strategy for the organization
  • Pilot implementation of DC-DR setup for SAP systems
  • Procurement roadmap and list of additional IT and OT components required for transformation

Data and Analytics platform of the future

  • Data management strategy of the organization across storage, ingestion, and distribution layers
  • Data and AI architecture design of the org
  • Procurement and implementation support for Data warehouse, data ingestion, and analytics/BI tools as per aligned target state data architecture
  • Aligned design of data flow map and integrations across systems, to enable building of efficient data pipelines for development of new-age use cases
  • Comprehensive guidelines on data governance, lineage, metadata and quality practices
  • Implementation of data governance and data quality tools to improve data accessibility and decision-making

Best-in-class IT operating model, process and org structure

  •  Design for best-in-class org structure, along with list of roles and capabilities needed across sites
  • Optimal sourcing mix (in-house to outsource composition) basis assessment of skills across overall IT talent
  • Training charter across technology upskilling and project management for entire IT organization
  • Playbook for adoption of agile cross-functional operating model within IT vertical and across other functions
  • Bluebook on comprehensive engineering practices and driving adoption of the same
  • Procurement and implementation roadmap for tools to drive best-in-class engineering practices
  • Rulebook of core coding practices (standards, hygiene) and guidebook to follow across different IT verticals and vendors
  • Playbook on adoption of code testing protocols to improve code efficacy

Refined Vendor management model

  • Review of critical vendor arrangements for vendor responsiveness, performance management, penalty mechanism, output quality, and governance

Skills Required

Enterprise Architecture and Integration

  • Expertise in designing and optimizing enterprise application architectures (e.g., MES, WMS, QMS, MRO) with a focus on integrations across the value chain.

Cloud and Infrastructure Strategy

  • Proficiency in cloud migration, infrastructure hosting strategies (on-prem vs. cloud), and disaster recovery (DC-DR) implementation for critical applications like SAP.

Data and Analytics Strategy

  • Knowledge of data management, AI architecture design, and implementing tools for data ingestion, warehousing, and analytics while ensuring governance and quality.

IT Operating Model Design

  • Skills in defining IT organization structures, sourcing strategies, training charters, and adopting agile and engineering best practices.

Vendor Management and Governance

  • Experience in optimizing vendor arrangements, performance management, onboarding processes, and centralizing vendor governance frameworks.

Technology Procurement and Roadmap Development

  • Ability to design roadmaps for IT/OT component procurement and implementation to support transformation objectives.
