Assignment Details

Our Client, a leading Power Technologies Company, is seeking an Independent HR Compliance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Compliance
    • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, including the Shop and Establishment Act.
    • Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Policy Development
    • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to create and update HR policies.
    • Communicate policy changes effectively to employees.
  • Audits and Assessments
    • Conduct regular audits of HR processes for compliance with labor laws.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Education
    • Provide training sessions for HR staff and employees on compliance topics, including labor laws.
    • Ensure organizational awareness of compliance standards.
  • Investigations
    • Lead investigations into HR compliance issues, particularly those related to labor law violations.
    • Implement corrective actions based on investigation findings.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate records related to HR compliance, including documentation required under the Shop and Establishment Act.
    • Ensure documentation is available for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Reporting
    • Prepare reports on HR compliance metrics for senior management.
    • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with legal counsel, HR, and other departments to address compliance challenges.

Skills Required

  1. Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  2. Certifications: Professional certifications in HR or compliance (e.g., HRCI, SHRM-SCP) are advantageous.
  3. Experience with risk management or auditing processes.
  4. Familiarity with creating, executing, and monitoring compliance projects.
  5. Proficiency in using HR information systems and data analysis tools.
