Our client, a social-sector advisory firm, is looking to engage with a Consultant - Payroll & Compliance.
Payroll Processing and Management- On-Roll and Off Roll
• Ensure delivery of payroll processing, operational aspects of payroll processing, and associated activities
that are accurately carried out on a month-on-month basis within appropriate timeframes
• Develop procedures and supervise the preparation, documentation, and expense of all payroll checks, taxes, and People benefit payments
• Process payroll accurately by state rules and statutes
• Handle Income tax and full and final settlements timely and accurately
• Handle payroll & Reimbursement queries
• Analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve complex payroll processing issues Payroll Compliances
• Review and complete tax and other statutory payroll filings before the due date
• Preparing payroll MIS, people's advances, medical insurance, etc.
• Adhere to statutory compliances and highlight shortfalls and risks
• Weekly, Monthly payroll and compliances Reports and MIS per payroll and relevant Acts.
• Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
• Preparation of monthly challans and returns for PF, PT, ESIC, etc.
• Ensure that the pay and benefits plans comply with State laws
• Ensure maintenance of statutory registers, Employment, and Labor related Statutory returns before the due date
• Prepare detailed variance analysis and reports before the payroll cycle for all types of pay-outs - statutory returns and ensure compliance with all monthly, quarterly and annual payments and returns
• Maintain records relating to peoples pay and statutory reports which are conversant with the relevant statutes and payroll regulations
• Post payroll transactions, and ensure appropriate monthly reconciliations per the payroll calendar
HR Compliances
Ensure and support in all HR Compliances under the following acts:-
• Structure compensation in a way that will yield the highest value for the organization and employees
• Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
• Shops & Estb. Act
• CLRA Act
• Compliance Under Professional Tax Act
• Minimum Wages Act
• Payment of Gratuity Act
• Maternity Benefit Act
• Payment of Bonus Act
• Payment of Wages
• Equal Remuneration Act
• Annual returns
• Handling Notices and Litigations
Key Reports & Other Deliverables
• Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
• Board presentation, HR Dashboard, Organisation chart
• Collaborate with the other HR & accounting team members
• Performing Annual PMS exercise(salary revision, rationalization & performance pay calculations)
• Vendor Management – Renewal of agreements & processing invoices for payments
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8-9 years’ of relevant work experience
• Must have experience of Payroll and Compliance
• Must have knowledge of Statutory norms
• Must be well versed with taxation and legal compliance
• A keen eye for detail & analytical acumen
• Good written and verbal communication skills
