Assignment Details

Our client, a leading American Private Foundation, is looking to engage with a Senior Consultant – Global South Diffusion.

The incumbent will actively engage in understanding the emerging global and regional agenda around the priority issues; identify areas where the foundation can contribute and facilitate the development of a roadmap for partnerships in the global south. This will require landscaping, mapping and prioritization of potential collaboration networks and channels across the global south, with an emphasis on cross-learning between Sub-Saharan Africa and South/Southeast Asia. The role would also require identifying partners for documenting innovations and good practices of development solutions across distinct verticals – health and nutrition, technology and digital public infrastructure and financial inclusion, financial inclusion, biotechnology, livelihoods, etc. - from states, domestically, and national capacities across digital public goods and health innovations

Specifically, the role will entail – 

  • Support in the development of the strategy and roadmap for the key priorities to be advanced for the diffusion of India-led innovation and development practices to advance goals in South and Southeast Asia and Africa
  • Engage internally with the foundation offices in Seattle and in the regions to help develop key program priorities that need to be advanced in identified geographies through the Global South Cooperation
  • Identifying and documenting innovations and good practices development solutions across distinct verticals of the foundation
  • Engage with the relevant ministries and departments in India and mission outside India on priority programs to advance the Global South Cooperation agenda in line with shared priorities between the Government of India and the Gates Foundation.
  • To advance priority programs, may require curation and implementation of specially designed programs working with the Indian missions. The incumbent will help in designing, development, and delivery of these programs.
  • Assist in the creation of tangible outputs and outcomes including formalized partnerships between countries through bilateral, multilateral and triangular relations, between governmental and non-governmental actors.
  • Assist in preparation for meetings with other development partners working on the same priorities of advancing South-South cooperation. Further, ensuring follow-up action and outcomes from such meetings.

Skills Required

  • Strong data analysis and report-writing skills
  •  Comfort with doing hands-on research & data analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to summarize complex information in a clear and concise manner
