Assignment Details

Flexing It is the largest platform in India and Southeast Asia enabling organisations to 
access experienced independent consultants and domain experts ‘on-demand’ and manage

Financial Times, Flexing It has built a technology-driven solution that caters to over 3,000 
corporates and 80,000+ independent consultants, using proprietary tools and market 
knowledge to make the experience effective, efficient and scalable.

 

Finance Controller Role 
 As Flexing It scales both in India and internationally, we are looking to strengthen the finance 
function to ensure that our day-to-day operations are running efficiently and in compliance 
with all laws. In addition, there is a need to focus on more strategic finance issues that could 
materially impact our ability to scale operations seamlessly. 

The specific roles and responsibilities include: 

Operational Finance 
Oversight of in-house finance team on core finance operations 
● Ensuring the accounts are set-up correctly and updated regularly 
● Timely and accurate invoicing for all projects/consultants/clients 
● Timely and accurate payroll and consultant payments 

Driving core financial analysis and budgeting tasks 
● Ensuring an accurate MIS and P&L by the 10th of the following month for discussion 
with the senior team
● Ensuring regular finance trackers/analysis is being done as per the defined cadence - 
payments aging, cash flow planning etc 

Client coordination and addressing queries 
● Supporting BD & Growth team with vendor empanelment and contracting documents 
as needed 
● Resolving client queries from time to time (e.g. on GST reconciliation, PO balance etc) 


Oversight on compliances 
• Ontime and accurate monthly filings for GST, TDS and ensuring all regular filings are 
done 
• Ensuring adherence to other compliances e.g., PF 
• Coordinating with the Company Secretary to ensure RoC related compliances are on 
track 
• Ensuring certifications are up to date - LUT, MSME etc 
• Ensuring the annual audit and filings are done on time and with quality – for both India 
and Singapore entities 

Strategic finance support 
Helping prepare and send out shareholder updates 

Working with the CEO and senior team on strategic analysis, including 
• Updating the business projections for the company for the next 3 – 5 years 
• Helping drive cash flow forecasts 

Skills Required

We are looking for a seasoned finance professional with 12-15 years of experience who has 
spent a substantial part of that time either in a professional services or B2B organisation. A 
prior stint as a controller is a must, and some experience managing finance and compliances 
for multi-country set-ups will be a huge plus. 

The professional must be comfortable working in a start-up environment, and will have the 
opportunity to really shape the company’s finance function as we scale.
