Our Client, a Leading Global Specialist in Energy Management and Automation, is seeking an Independent Tax Compliance Leader. This role delivers shareholder value and investor confidence by ensuring compliances to Tax and statutory regulations, sound financial reporting and internal controls at Schneider Electric. The role also Partners with stakeholders across the company on the tax implications of the company’s business activities to maximize earnings, cash flow and operational efficiency. Manages risk and exposure through effective and efficient planning, advocacy, counsel, reporting, and compliance with applicable tax laws. Ensures that tax liabilities and risks are properly reported on all relevant financial statements and reports. Interacts with government representatives regarding tax legislation, audits, and other tax compliance issues.
Responsibilities
• Manages End to End Indirect tax compliance and coordinating with supply chain, commercial, corporate finance, competency centre to implement robust taxing and reporting processes and ensure compliance with local legislations and requirements.
• Responsible for compliances under GST laws including the filing of returns, Job work, TDS under GST, LUT and annual return. Lead the GST assessment and closure of case till assessing officer.
• Responsible for TDS and TCS compliances under the Income Tax Act.
• Works closely with operations to realise the maximum benefits by managing the compliances under foreign trade policy, GST and any other government initiatives like RODTEP, DBK, SBR, IGST refund, EPCG, advance licences.
• Works with operations to provide tax requirements related to EHTP, EOU, SEZ, STPI requirement and compliances.
• Works closely with multiple teams across organization to drive reporting, new legislation, new business proposal, and/or new system implementation projects.
• Partners with subject matter experts in Tax function to identify process and tool improvements and support in litigation matters.
• Prepares responses to Tax auditors.
• Represent Schneider Electric during audits and strategize audit closures. Collects and verifies files used during audits. Documents and shares audit findings with impacted business groups and works to implement changes with them.
• Chartered accountant or Cost accountant Or, LLB Or, master’s degree in business administration
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
• Preferably 15+ years of experience in Indirect tax positions.
• Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended.
• Analytical mindset and passion for process excellence and change management.
